Meet Alexis, Your Instructor

Past
Alexis was a professional photographer for over 20 years, shooting weddings and portraits. She still shoots occasionally. Photography took a toll on her body, standing for long hours, carrying heavy gear, and then editing at a computer. Over time, her body has created imbalances due to her work. Like so many others, these imbalances showed up in her body as stiffness, lower back pain, shoulder pain, and migraines.

Present
Alexis is a comprehensively trained Pilates Instructor. Comprehensive refers to completing a 500-hour program, which includes learning all pilates apparatus: reformer, mat, chair, springboard, ladder barrel, RTC, and spine corrector. This program can take up to 2 years to complete. It also focuses on special populations and how to adapt Pilates to each person's body if they have limitations of movement.

Future
When Alexis commits to something, she is all in! She has a passion for continuing to learn and become more knowledgeable within the pilates practice and its benefits for whole body wellness. She is currently studying to take the National Pilates exam.
Once nationally certified, continuing education is required in order to keep your status.
